Mission Statement: Big Bucks ProRodeo, based in Central, Utah, is a premier rodeo company that hosts professional rodeos, bull ridings, and ranch bronc ridings across the western and midwestern United States. In addition to producing thrilling events, Big Bucks ProRodeo also specializes in breeding and raising exceptional bareback and saddle bronc horses. With a commitment to excellence, they provide top-quality stock for all 8 PRCA and WPRA events, ensuring that contestants have the best opportunity to achieve high scores and earn a spot at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, NV.

The History of Big Bucks Pro Rodeo

Big Bucks Professional Rodeo Company may be a new name in the rodeo industry, but its roots run deep, tracing back to 1940 with two legendary bucking horse bloodlines: the Mosbrucker and Kerby families. These two bloodlines have created an undeniable legacy in the world of rodeo, and Big Bucks Pro Rodeo is proud to continue their tradition. Founded in 2024, Big Bucks Pro Rodeo is the culmination of two passionate families, the Flitton’s and the Burnsides—coming together to build something extraordinary. While the company may be young, the Flitton and Burnside families have long histories in the rodeo world, with multiple generations of stock contractors and rodeo athletes carrying on the legacy.

What sets Big Bucks Pro Rodeo apart in the rodeo industry is the remarkable heritage behind it. With the Mosbrucker bloodlines, which have produced award-winning horses, and the Kerby bloodlines, known for their two Remuda Awards, the company proudly honors these legendary families and their bred-to-buck livestock. Big Bucks Pro Rodeo’s motto, "We don’t have big bucks, so we make them," reflects both the quality of their bucking horses and bulls and the ambitious spirit of the Flitton and Burnside families. This passion, combined with their big hearts, sets the company apart as they continue to grow in the professional rodeo world. In its inaugural year, Big Bucks Pro Rodeo wasted no time establishing a strong presence. The rodeo season kicked off in January at Park City, Kansas, where they set an attendance record. Following this success, the company traveled to several locations, including Bismarck, ND, Waterloo, IA, Huron, SD, and Council Bluffs, IA, to bring thrilling rodeo events to communities across the country. In addition, they leased stock in numerous locations, including Lakeside, CA, Ellensburg, WA, and Las Vegas, NV, further expanding their reach.

Among their many accomplishments this year, one that stands out is the nomination of stock to the prestigious Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) in 2024. 701 Freckles, a saddle bronc, competed in round 8, scoring in the top 3, proving that Big Bucks Pro Rodeo is a force to be reckoned with. Despite their early successes, they have faced their share of challenges. The most significant hurdle came in 2022, when Cody Flitton’s family rodeo company was sold against their will. But rather than allowing this setback to derail their dreams, Cody Flitton—who grew up in the rodeo industry—partnered with Jody Burnside to purchase the Mosbrucker Pro Rodeo Company. With the Burnside family’s multi-generational experience in various rodeo events, the Flitton’s and Burnsides formed Big Bucks Pro Rodeo, overcoming the challenges of being a new company in a competitive industry. Cody Flitton’s great-grandfather, D.A. Swanny Kerby, played a pivotal role in the formation of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and established the company’s rich history of breeding bucking livestock.

Big Bucks Pro Rodeo is a testament to the dedication of these families to keeping their legacy alive. As Big Bucks Pro Rodeo looks to the future, they have big plans for expanding their reach and creating more opportunities for both contestants and fans alike. The company aims to establish more rodeo events across the United States, providing family-friendly entertainment while giving competitors more chances to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo. One key lesson that Big Bucks Pro Rodeo has learned is the importance of perseverance. As The Flitton’s puts it, "To make a goal a reality, one must put forth all their energy and not give up." This mindset has been essential in building the company from the ground up and will continue to drive their success.
